Stone has Appointment with Royal Courts

Pinner-based Stone Technical Services has secured a major contract to carry our vital maintenance work at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

The £20,000 contract will see Stone erect a 25 meter flagpole and specialist access scaffolding and carry our general high level maintenance on the building located on The Strand. Stone is working with Nottingham-based architectural engineers, E. C. Harris, on the project.

The Royal Courts of Justice date back to 1882, when they were opened by Queen Victoria. The site occupies around 7.5 acres and the building is around 74 meters tall.

Stone, located on March Road in Pinner, specialises in all aspects of high level maintenance, lightning conductor installation and steeplejack services as well as restoration and masonry refurbishment projects on churches, museums, clock towers, castles, spires and historic buildings all over the UK.

The company employs 24, with five staff based in Pinner, and plans to continually grow its workforce throughout 2009 as well as increase its £2 million turnover by 25%.

Stone works all over the UK on a variety of high profile buildings such as St Paul’s Cathedral and Selfridges in London and for organisations such as English Heritage and the National Trust as well as for well known industrial clients such as INEOS Plant Utilities and Teesside Power Station.

Managing director, Dave Stone said: “The Royal Courts of Justice are housed in magnificent buildings which have some intricate architectural details. The building is also very high so our specialists have been engaged to carry out quite a significant project to ensure it stays in peak condition in the future.”
