Despite the significant growth and success achieved to date, or any yet to be realised, STS Group will never lose sight of the local community background that was so important to us at the very beginning. A local business, employing local people, benefitting the economy of our local community.
We understand and appreciate that every project we deliver and every action we take, regardless of geographic location, has an impact on its local community. For this reason, this core value has always been, and will always be, at the heart of everything we do.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill
For the last 5 years, it has been our pleasure to sponsor and support a legend in his own field. North East native Nick Parkes is an internationally acclaimed open-water swimmer, whose achievements continue to astound us and fill us with pride, and at 50-something Is still showing the twenty-somethings how it’s done!
In a throwback to the values in education of an era gone by, nothing says ‘traditional’ like the ding-dong of an old school bell! So when the head of Corporation Road School in Darlington was looking to reinstate the customary sound to signify the start and finish to the school day, we knew just the people to help.
In a continuous effort to ‘share the love’, STS Group chooses to adopt a Charity of the Year. During the Cash For Kids year, there were multiple fundraising efforts which included Great North Runners, sponsored 1000 push-ups, sponsored doughnut eating competitions and we even had Dave and Richard as Santa’s little elves helping collect the toys in the Mission Christmas appeal.
As with everything at STS Group, there’s always a long-term plan! Whilst we may not have a Derby winner at present, our support for STS Racing Ltd brings huge pride and satisfaction when we see our logo on the silks of a jockey, crossing the finishing line in first position. Winners in business and winners on the track!
