Stone Technical Services Group Ltd were initially commissioned to carry out a visual survey of the external building fabric and compile a report of any defects found. Following the survey, a methodical repair programme was put in place to clean the external masonry using the Stonehealth DOFF system followed by an additional survey to identify any further defects. Mitchells & Butlers plc directive is to make sure their buildings are safe, sound and watertight.
Working from rope access and a two-level crash deck scaffold with edge protection STS carried out all repair works following our surveys including external defrassing, masonry repairs, stone indents, re-pointing, lead repairs and cleaning of the parapet rainwater gutters and down-pipes.
STS carried out the all works whilst the building was still operational and had to liaise very closely with the staff at Mitchells & Butlers and other contractors to ensure all activities could be carried out in a safe and clean environment whilst the bar was open to the public seven days a week.
STS were commissioned to undertake a turn-key programme to refurbish and decorate all internal walls and ceilings including architectural features with heritage paint products, elements of the work were completed via a programme of Spider Lift access machines which allowed works to be carried out in a more productive manner than traditional scaffolding, all works were completed to a detailed scheduled programme and delivered on time and to budget.
