Here at Stone Technical Services Group, we have enormous pride in the Historic Property Restoration work carried out by STS Restoration Ltd.
We have a long history working on a wide variety of restoration and conservation projects on some of the UK’s most famous historic buildings, monuments, structures and bridges. Our own long-serving and highly skilled craftsmen carry out the conservation and restoration of building fabric and structures sympathetically using traditional methods and also efficiently whilst using the very latest industry leading practices.
We work in partnership with organisations such as the National Trust and Historic England, as well as heritage architects and surveyors from across the UK to deliver outstanding results on treasured historic properties.
Our team has decades of experience in carrying out a wide variety of materials. As our name would suggest “Stone” is an area we are heavily involved with.
We maintain a team of highly skilled CSCS Heritage Masons, accredited to the highest industry standards by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme.
These skills combined with a wealth of knowledge, experience and certification in the steeplejack and rope access areas have allowed us to carry out restoration work which would have otherwise been none cost efficient due to extreme access expenditure on a whole range of churches, monuments, towers, cathedrals, bridges and even commercial city centre buildings, where cost efficiency and business continuity is critical to the operation.
Our restoration division are also experts in the restoration of Edwardian and Victorian iron street canopies where by using traditional methods of carefully removing decades of over painting and traffic film from antique iron columns we are able to carry out intricate repairs on finely-detailed ironwork which often overhang streets and businesses.
The restoration of canopies is not only vital for the preservation of their historic value but also to ensure health and safety compliance given that they are almost always located on public thoroughfares. Canopy repair can be completed as a stand-alone project or as part of a wider programme of restoration works.
